Saints Thirunavukkarasar, Thirugnana Sambandar and Sundarar. This is the 122nd Devara Sthalam.

Pariharam

This temple is a Rahu-Ketu parihara sthalam. Those with Kalasarpa dosha(the serpent planets Rahu and Ketu shall be at two ends between which other planets would be caught), 18 years of Rahu Dasa occurs, 7 years of Ketu dasa occurs, if Rahu and Ketu are in 2nd to Ascendant, and if Ketu and Rahu are in 8th to Ascendant, or if Rahu Buddhi, Ketu Buddhi happens, Kalathra dosha (that will affect the longevity of the spouse) in their horoscopes, combined with problems in marriage and snakes appearing in dreams. Some would have killed a snake intentionally or unintentionally. Some may be facing debt burdens. Those facing any or such problems in life have to come to this temple seeking relief through prescribed prayer procedures. There is no parihar pooja after 5 P.M.

Pariharam Procedure

Those who are addicted to drugs and other narcotics can get rid of their bad habits if they pray to this Lord during Rahu period on every Sunday evening between 4.30 pm to 6.00 p.m. and do archanas. It is strongly believed that by doing this regularly, all 264 types of sins will be removed. Devotees perform abishek and archanas and offer vastras to Lord.
