Saints Thirunavukkarasar, Thirugnana Sambandar, Manickavasagar. This temple is the 11th in the list of 274 Devara Sthalams.
This temple is attributed to Lord Mercury (Budhan) and also a parihara sthalam. People pray here for good education, career success, removal of poverty and child boon. The curse of ancestors for over 21 generations are removed if one worships the Rudra Padam under the Vadaval Ala tree. Hence this place is called Rudra Gaya. Apart from this, devotees perform abishekam to Lord, do annadanam, and distribute the nivedhana.
